‘The Tor was the first design I made for Montis. They had organised a design competition with the assignment “Design a side table”. I came up with this model together with Ralf Lambie, someone I had previously met during a summer course at a prestigious training institute in Milan. A striking and practical detail about the Tor is, of course, the handle in the middle of the tabletop. We won the competition and Montis was so enthusiastic that they took the table into production. That motivated me to start working for myself. The Tor has been on the market since 2011 and is still in all the retail shops.’
